Outsourced Suffolk?

And about time too!

Having been a supporter of the One Suffolk bid for a county-wide Unitary Authority here, last weeks announcement on the outsourcing of County Council services was music to my ears.

We also have the continuing discussions between District Councils on merging their operations.

Perhaps the end result may be a single lean authority?

My only worry is, do our elected councillors and their grossly remunerated officers have what it takes to negotiate the best deals on behalf of their council tax payers?
