creamy dauphinoise potatoes covered in mature cheddar cheese

a melt in the middle chocolate sponge with Devon clotted cream.....

The Police and Human Rights

I tweeted this a few moments ago, albeit a bit after the event, but I've had a lack of confidence in our Police Force for a long time;

"The Police didn't (or couldn't) protect law abiding citizens because they were afraid of infringing the human rights of the rioters!"

I know it's rather simplistic to put it like this but it is, in as many words, what a senior Police representative said on BBC Breakfast during the height of the riots.

Doomed or what?
